Costuming
Since I plan to make a career in theater costuming, I have to learn how to do adaption of works into live performances. What makes it great or scary is that there can be many adaptions of works to live performance. So my prime example is how I did costume design sketches for three characters in James Lapine"s "Into The Woods" What made this either difficult or easy depending is that in this story, you can get away with multiple eras of clothing in order to design the costumes for this production. However, because it's one story with multiple fairy tale characters, you have to design in a way that will fit the entire story but still work the different periods and locations that each of the fairy characters came from.
At the bottom of the page, you will see a series of photos of a dress that was created based on a catalogue page from sears in the 1930s. This design taught my about the process of making bias cut dresses for the first time.
